Centre for Personal & Professional Development

Supervisor, Marie-Pascale Newcombe

I am an Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Supervisor. My approach is firmly based in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. Previously to training at CPPD, I trained at The Philadelphia Association and then at CFAR, (the Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research). A well as being a registered Member of the BACP, I am also a member of TRS (The Relational school). In my work as a Supervisor, my focus is on the relationship process between the therapist and their client.

The emphasis of my Supervision of trainee counsellors aims to support supervisees to continue developing their counselling skills, self-awareness and understanding of Psychodynamic theories, so that having gained confidence in their skills, they are better able to fully attend to the therapeutic relationship by the end of their training.
