Abby Gilfillian
Principal Diploma Tutor
Abby Gilfillian is an Integrative Psychotherapist, Clinical supervisor and core tutor on the Diploma at CPPD. She trained at CPPD before going on to qualify as a Psychosexual psychotherapist. Alongside her private practice, she works in third sector mental services bridging the gap between statutory services and the needs of the local community
Abby’s background
Abby works from a trauma informed background, interspersing humanistic theories with compassion focused interventions when working with clients, supervisees and students alike. She runs a private practice, working largely online which broadens her caseload to clients across the globe. Outside of her private practice Abby is passionate about increasing access to counselling and psychological therapies to clients, working towards tackling prohibitive factors and supporting the development of culturally appropriate interventions.
Abby’s approach
Abby’s aim is to create a supportive, safe and challenging environment allowing for the development of individual counsellor identities alongside processing and emotional growth. Abby centres self-awareness and self-care at the heart of her teaching and supervision, supporting students and supervisees to challenge themselves so they can safely support clients.
Our Counselling
Our counselling sessions aim to give you, the client, an opportunity to explore personal issues in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental setting. All done with a highly experienced counsellor.
Our Courses
We have a whole range of course that run in the evening and weekends. Which means we offer real flexibility for people in employment, or with busy family lives, who want to train in counselling.
