Course time commitments
Certificate
The Certificate is a one-year part-time course, spanning three terms.
It commences with an introductory weekend: Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm and finishes with an ending weekend: Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm.
Each term consists of ten weekly evening seminars: 6pm-9:30pm
There are 3 assignments to be completed and we advise students to set aside time for reading
Diploma
The Diploma is a one-year part-time course, spanning three terms.
It commences with an introductory weekend: Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm. It finishes with an ending Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm. In addition, there is a mid-year weekend: Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm.
Each term consists of ten weekly evening seminars: 6pm-9:30pm
Additionally, there are 3 compulsory weekend training courses 10am-4pm each day.
There are 3 assignments to be completed. Students will be given reading and handouts and we recommend that students set aside about 1 hour per week to complete this.
Students must be in placement during the Diploma course, which usually amounts to a commitment of 3 hours per week.
Students must be in supervision with a CPPD supervisor: 1 hour of supervision and 3 hours of group supervision per month.
CPPD supervisors are located in and around Greater London and students must be prepared to travel for some face to face sessions
In addition to this, it is compulsory for students to be in personal therapy, consisting of 1 hour per week.
Advanced Diploma
The Advanced Diploma is a one-year part-time course, spanning three terms.
It commences with an introductory weekend: Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm. It finishes with an ending Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm. In addition, there is a mid-year weekend: Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm.
Each term consists of ten weekly evening seminars: 6pm-9:30pm.
Additionally, there are 3 compulsory weekend courses: CBT; Psychiatry, Psychopathology & Psychodynamics; and Time-Limited Counselling (all take place on Saturday and Sunday, 10am-5pm).
There are 4 assignments to be completed. Students will be given reading and handouts and we recommend that students set aside at least 2 hours per week to complete this.
Students must be in placement during the Advanced Diploma course, which usually amounts to a commitment of 3 hours per week.
