What We’ll Explore

This Groupwork training provides an introduction to groupwork theory and practice, for therapists interested in working with groups and those already doing so.  The focus is on participants developing skills in facilitating groups and using the resources of the group to support therapeutic change. 

The skills and theory addressed within the course will be applicable within a range of settings, from support groups to therapeutic workshops and on-going therapeutic groups.

The course will include:

• An introduction to a planning cycle for running groups and workshops.

• Input on groupwork skills, exercises and facilitator styles

• Opportunities for group work skills development and coaching of facilitation in ‘live’ groups.

• The opportunity to develop a peer support network with other therapists interested in running groups.

Tim Foskett is an accredited Individual (UKCP) and Group (AHPP) Psychotherapist, and a Couples therapist, Supervisor and 5  Rhythms™ dance teacher.  

He trained at City University, PHYSIS and Spectrum, within a Humanistic - Integrative framework. He is a director of North London Group Therapy (www.northlondongrouptherapy.co.uk), and has been running groups and workshops for more than 20 years.  He currently runs 5 ongoing therapy groups including Therapy Therapy, a group for counsellors and therapists.  More info can be found at www.timfoskett.com
